Have you ever wished you could just fall asleep for a few days? Weeks? Months? How about a year or so…?

Let’s face it, no one is going to say that the year 2020 was the best year ever. NO ONE.  It’s been a tough go, but we’re making it through it.

Lately, I have been scrolling through social media with disgust. People are always fighting about something. Politics, Supreme Court nominee, BLM, sports.  People even fight over pictures of a meal someone cooked.

I need a break from all of this. I said to my wife that I wanted to fall asleep and wake up in 2022 because I know nothing is getting better anytime soon. My wife said I need to make sure that I send in my absentee ballot before I take this much need nap.

Would I really be missing anything if I took this long nap? Would anything change on social media? We will probably still be wearing masks to take a shit (I do wear a mask everywhere).  The virus isn’t going away immediately if Biden or Trump wins. California and Florida will still be battling for the weirdest state.  There will still be 47 “Real Housewives” shows on tv.  By the time I wake up every Kardashian will be billionaires.

All these arguments are making me depressed. I see lifelong friendships go down the drain. It affects marriages. My wife defriended me several years ago because of my posts. I think it was the best thing that ever happened to our marriage, besides the kids.

There are millions of game apps on your phone. Here’s an idea people, download a few and stop arguing on Facebook.

So, what I have decided to do is simple: turn off Facebook for a few days, maybe a few weeks. I know it is physically impossible to take a nap for two weeks but I’m doing the next best thing. I’ll come back and see if anything has changed. I doubt it.

Before I sign off, I want to congratulate “The Freak of Nurture” on her recent engagement. Her fiancé is a very lucky man.
