As I viewed the above photo of a Bride, her Groom and his best men, I had a very provoking thought for a blog. A Woman is like the four seasons! The men, here, can represent the seasons. And, June, isn’t it a huge marriage announcer?

As the seasons change, so do marriages. Most couples grow and glow with the seasons but work is always involved. As we have to tame the earth each season, we must work at life and our choices too!

While this picture is different from the usual; life, too, varies for all of us. Many marriages, today, are also between woman and woman or man and man. And many, while they live together, do not choose to have a marriage contract. And for some, marriage never enters the picture! While the boundaries of marriage have changed; the rules are still in play!

While seasons change without reminder, so does life. People change. Some slowly and some drastically; not giving a particular season any thought. Have you ever compared your life and  your marriage to a season? Did you choose your wedding day because of the season?

If people look upon marriage as a patch of land then there are many things to be done. In winter the land becomes cold and the earth is showing shades of white, black and brown. It’s  a quiet time. A time for the earth to regenerate and rest until the spring season comes.

In Spring all life is renewed. As the weather changes, once again, we are drawn to the lingering light of day and renewed promises from the earth. There is no reason why two married people in love can’t feel the newness of their lives together; plant new ideas and

cultivate new dreams. Summers will bring full growth and a plentiful harvest.  All the weeds of negativity must be constantly removed. As the summer plants need watering, so do marriages; with love.  Fall, a harvesting time. Keeping and saving the best of your garden. Winter, a time to be together and enjoy all you’ve gathered throughout the year.

Now, a woman for all seasons, that interests me. A woman with a giving compassion abounds

with kindness for herself, her family and others. She does this with wisdom and bravery! A woman is the backbone of life. She births, she nurtures and somehow believes all is possible! Don’t you agree?

The ‘Bride’ is picturesque and outstanding on her wedding day! With time she will face many changes.  We know from history about the strong, bold and adventurous women that have paved the way for mankind; how they have led and performed in all walks of life. Personally, I think all women are underestimated!

Perhaps I am casting women’s roles as more important than men. Because they are! Men

cannot give birth to another human being! Men expect, and some even demand, a wife’s un-

ending attention and contributions to and for the family! Is there anything a woman can’t do?

And, she will become President one day! The Blessed Virgin Mary was chosen to birth a mighty Son!  Joan of Arc led her country’s army to victory! Throughout history, so many women have discovered ways in which our lives are far better today, 2021! A woman is for all seasons!
